LOVED: A Tribute to Teddy and the Unconditional Love of Dogs

For dog lovers, there’s nothing in this world quite like the bond we share with our pups. It’s honest, it’s pure, and it’s unconditional in a way humans rarely manage. If you’ve ever been “owned” by a dog, you know exactly what I mean — that quiet companionship, that goofy joy, that way they somehow make ordinary days feel extraordinary.

For us, that dog was Teddy.

We rescued Teddy a little over six years ago, and from the moment he trotted into our family, tail wagging and eyes bright, he became the heart of our home. He wasn’t just a pet — he was a friend, a comedian, a shadow, a healer, and on some days… the best therapist anyone could ask for.

Even as he battled bone cancer, Teddy never stopped making us laugh. He was the kind of dog who carried light with him, the kind of soul that lifted yours no matter what kind of day you were having. Right up to his very last day, he reminded us what joy looks like.

He reminded us what love looks like.

There is no greater honor than to be loved by a dog — and Teddy made us feel honored every single day.

Teddy proved both of these to be true. Every wag. Every goofy grin. Every quiet moment where he rested his head against us like we were his whole world.
